Getting the most out of Word's basic tools

Microsoft Word is more than a word processor - it offers a range of options to personalize your document and take control over the presentation of your material.
Word 2007 can be confusing for new users. The software had a complete aesthetic overhaul from the earlier versions, replacing the docked toolbars for a tabbed menu with seemingly hidden functions. But all of the usability and functionality is still there if you just know where to look.
I have put together a number of tutorials on basic Word 2007 formatting options, and included links or guidance for Word 2003 in some as well. During the course of that experience I also found a number of helpful sites and videos. All of these how-to guides are available from this page.
